2010 SGA Order of Merit
Introduction
1. The SGA Order of Merit for 2010 will use the R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) System method of calculating points. The Order of Merit will be in accordance with the points accumulated by players in a calendar year. A Current Ranking Order, based on points accumulated on a rolling three months, will also be monitored to track current performance of players.
2. In addition to points, stroke average will also be tracked and if points are similar, stroke average will apply.

Counting Events
4. All counting events recognised by the R&A WAGR System will eligible for the SGA Order of Merit. The counting events include most international events and major local tournaments and do not differentiate between open or junior tournaments.
5. In addition, local professional tournaments and amateur tournaments, for example, HSBC Youth Golf Challenge and FSA Singapore Championship, will be included. Local club tournaments of at least three rounds and are open to all are also eligible subject to SGA’s acceptance.
Allocation of Points
6. Points allocated by WAGR to local Ranked Players (local players who are being tracked in their system) when they participate in counting events will be accepted for SGA ranking. Players who are not tracked by WAGR and playing in the same counting event will be given points using the same method. In this instance, SGA will use WAGR data for the Ranking Scratch Score (RSS).
7. For local tournaments that are not WAGR counting events, SGA will compute the RSS and allocate points accordingly.
Ranking Order
8. The Order of Merit will be computed according to the total number of points that have been accumulated in a calendar year. The list will be updated at the beginning of each month. All tournaments up to the end of the preceding month will be captured.
9. A Current Ranking Order will be used to track a player’s current form over a rolling three months. There must be at least two events played during this period for the current form to be considered.
10. Stroke average will also be tracked and will be considered if points obtained by players are similar.
Players below 18 years old
11. Players below 18 years old (regardless of whether they are National Squad or Development Squad members) will also be tracked using a Under 18 Years Old List.
12. SGA will use the Under 18 Years Old List to select players for junior tournaments.
Eligibility to Participate
13. All National Squad and Development Squad players are qualified to participate.
14. Those who are currently not in these two squads and wish to participate may apply, through their Club Captain, to the SGA Training and Selection Sub-Committee. They must have a Handicap Index of below 1.0. Those below the age of 18 years old may apply if they hold a Handicap Index of 6.0 and below.

15. To remain in the SGA Order of Merit for 2010 and to retain their privilege to play in 2011, players must participate in at least 50% of the local SGA National Tournaments and the National Ranking Games. Those who are unable to meet this requirement and have valid reasons may apply for exemptions.
16. Players who do not play any events for a whole calendar quarter without any advanced notice and valid reasons may be immediately dropped from the SGA Order of Merit.
17. Players ranked consistently at the bottom positions for a continuous period of 3 months may be counseled. If they do not improve their performance in the next 3 months, they may be dropped from the list.
