Gregory Foo triumphs at the 2017 Vietnam Amateur Open
Gregory Foo put in a masterclass performance to win the Vietnam Amateur Open (VAO) by a wide margin of 11 shots. He shot rounds of 70, 70, 71, 68 (279) to finish at 9 under for the tournament. His compatriot, Joshua Shou, finished runner-up to make it a 1-2 sweep for Singapore. He shot rounds of 75, 76, 71, 68 (290) to finish at 2 over, 2 shots clear of defending champion Ruperto Zaragosa.
This year’s edition of the Vietnam Amateur Open was played on the Ocean Course of the newly opened FLC Ouy Nhon Golf Links. This picturesque golf course is a Nicklaus design that features two distinct nines; one which weaves through the hills and pine forests, while the other is situated next to the scenic ocean.
