Shou Qualified for UBS Hong Kong Open 2017
SEA Games gold medallists Marc Ong and Joshua Shou made their marks at the Hong Kong Open Amateur Championships 2017. Finishing the week at Discovery Bay Golf Club second and third, both Ong and Shou has clearly gain momentum since the eventful gold.
From Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, the Philippines, China, Chinese Taipei, USA, UK, Switzerland and Singapore, 56 of the top amateurs gather to compete against one another, with Matthew Cheung from Hong Kong coming out on top with a 4-day total of 283 (77, 70, 67, 69). Team Singapore’s Shou was leading the pack until a 75 on the last day placed him 2 strokes behind Cheung at 285 (70, 68, 72, 75). Ong took third place one stroke behind Shou with 286 (71, 76, 67, 72), and won Hong Kong’s Terrence Ng on countback.
Shou’s second placing has qualified him for the UBS Hong Kong Open which is scheduled to be held at the Hong Kong Golf Club from 23rd to 26th November 2017.
